AC Milan are soon expected to close a deal for Renato Sanches for a lower price than what Lille were asking for back in January, a report claims.
As reported this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Portuguese midfielder is close to sealing a move to Milan. An agreement with the player over personal terms has existed for some time now after difficulties in finding one during the winter market, and the final details regarding the transfer fee must be resolved.
The paper adds that it is likely that the deal will be closed for a figure no higher than €15m considering that Renato’s current contract expires in 2023 with no sign of a renewal, which means Lille must find him accommodation as soon as possible in order not to risk losing him on a free next year.
The former Bayern Munich and Benfica man should therefore be the replacement for Franck Kessie and will bolster the middle of the park in quantity and quality.
