GdS: Milan expected to sign a centre-back in January – the two names on their wish list

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have two names in mind as they look to strengthen their centre-back department in the January transfer window, a report claims.

Milan tried hard to sign a player in that position towards the end of the most recent mercato but failed in their pursuit of the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu, Mohamed Simakan and German Pezzella.

According to what is being reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri management are expected to go back in for a central defender once the window reopens and in recent days two main names have emerged as targets.

The first has been well documented over the past few weeks in Ozan Kabak of Schlake 04, a player that the club tried to sign towards the end of the summer window and who continues to be heavily linked with Liverpool.

However, Matteo Lovato of Hellas Verona has now also made his way onto the Rossoneri’s wish list, given how impressive the 20-year-old’s performances have been to start the season in particular against Juventus in Sunday night’s 1-1 draw.
