GdS: Milan eyeing Arsenal man on loan to help decimated department

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have are serious about trying to sign Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior in January but they do have alternative options in mind too, a report claims.

According to what is being reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) this morning, Milan are in a hurry for the winter transfer window to open because they need to add at least one central defender.

Malick Thiaw added to the list of unavailable players in that role in which the names of Simon Kjaer, Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino were already present, meaning Fikayo Tomori is the only fit senior centre-back for tonight’s game against Frosinone.

The Rossoneri need to bolster the department and the target is Jakub Kiwior of Arsenal, with a possible loan formula being eyed. He is not a regular starter with the Gunners but he is young and he knows Serie A well thanks to his 18 months at Spezia.

The alternative, as per the paper, is to try and terminate Matteo Gabbia’s loan spell at Villarreal early but they would need the approval of the LaLiga side because there is no clause.

  1. Boateng and Mustafi are both free agents if they really want to go the emergency route (which technically we’re in right now)
