GdS: Milan have two signings in mind for January to complete squad available to Pioli

By Oliver Fisher -

The Milan management are already thinking about the January market and how to add the pieces needed to complete Stefano Pioli’s squad.

This morning edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) focuses on Maldini and Massara’s next moves, starting with the attack. They report that striker Lorenzo Lucca is a target, as the 21-year-old is the top scorer in Serie B and is attracting interest from some top clubs like Milan, Inter and Juve.

The Rossoneri are thinking of accelerating, trying to burn the competition. The player’s valuation is around €10m and Milan could let him rejoin Pisa on loan until the end of the season in order to help facilitate the operation.

Then Maldini and Massara want to complete the midfield and the agreement for Yacine Adli states he will arrive in June, but an early arrival cannot be excluded. Then there is Romain Faivre, already pursued by Milan in recent months, and now the asking price is expected to be below the €15m wanted over the summer.

  1. Maybe that’s true,, but Lucca is still very young..
It’s never hurt to have highly-rated youngster for the future..
But of course, the young one need enough playing time to sharpen their potential..

  2. On my own view if milan would buy striker in january it’ll be torino captain then for the midfield milan won’t go for anyone. even if kessie leave we’re okay in that possition when krunic and Bakayoko return.

  3. Why are they buying young players is it we are small team.
We are not a Genoa or cagliari. Think of that, already we have pellegri why again Lucia.

  4. Personally id prefer us to get belotti in january or in july.
when that is said and if it doesnt exlude the arrival of belotti why would it matter if we actually aquirre a player from serie b ? he is scoring lots of goals is 21 years old and has a lot of promise and is 201cm tall and could be learning under the guidance of ibra and giroud. Not that i will make any direct quality comparisons between del piero and filippo inzaghi and lucca but both of those players arrived from serie b at the age of 20 and 21 years age. Veratti was brought to psg from serie b club pescara as well so whether a player comes from serie b shouldnt matter anything if the talent is there and apparently it is in luccas case.

      1. No doubt he would benefit from his height in set piece situations as he propably would be the tallest field player in serie a but from what ive been reading he should actually be a pretty athletic player not limited by his height so seems like a good backup player and when both juventus and inter also are scouting him he cant be entirely bad.

  5. We have a young forward in the team, his name is Pellegri and one in the team is enough. Not to mention we also own Colombo who is another young forward who’s having a good season.

    1. Its not that i disagree per se but you can also argue that while colombo is getting more experienced and more ready to return buying a cheap serie b player with great promise and having him develope with us at minimum could be a way to earn some cash down the line. Milans plan could also be to keep him for half a year and then loan him out the following season like juventus has increased their fortunes by adding more young players even if they havent had the habbit of keeping them they have earned a fair ammount of cash over the years by scooping up talents for cheap.
