GdS: Milan hoping Ibrahimovic can play some part in Europa League tie vs. Man Utd

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hoping that Zlatan Ibrahimovic could still play some part in the Europa League last 16 tie against Manchester United, a report claims.

The Swede came off with a muscle problem during Sunday night’s crucial 2-1 win over Roma, and the diagnosis is not great news. Ibrahimovic had been feeling his groin just before the break and continued to clutch it after, and his last contribution would be to shank an effort wide having let the ball drop over his should, with Rafael Leao coming on to replace him.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be on the pitch against Udinese and Hellas Verona this week and will also miss the first leg of the Europa League match against Manchester United at Old Trafford next week. The paper adds though that Milan hope to recover the 39-year-old at least for the return match at San Siro against the Red Devils.
