GdS: Milan may sign two strikers this summer – a surprise idea from Bologna

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking into the signing of another striker in addition to Divock Origi and a name within Serie A has emerged as a hypothesis, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) reports that Origi’s signing may no longer be enough given that Zlatan Ibrahimovic – who is keen to continue his playing career at Milan – will be out until 2023 after undergoing ACL reconstruction in France earlier this week.

Gianluca Scamacca of Sassuolo is a profile that the management like, but there could be a surprise name such as Marko Arnautovic, who had an excellent season at Bologna. The Austria international still has a two-year contract and the Rossoblu consider him non-transferable.

However, the paper claims that it would be difficult to resist the charm of moving to a city like Milano and Milan as a club would allow the player to make one last big move given he is now 33 years of age.

  1. Why would we pay for Arnautovic when Belotti is free?? IMO we either go cheap and get Belotti and Origi or we go big and get a guy like Nunez. Not Haller, he’s going to be a flop 100%

    1. Because scouts see how “good” Belotti is and Milan won’t sign him even for free. Exactly what I have been saying, average player.

    2. I don’t understand the people who think Haller would be a flop. Are you the same person who posted recently that he is in too “small” of a league in Eredevisie in Netherlands (while Nunez in Portugal is in just about the exact same level league) and Haller was very successful in Bundesliga at Frankfurt (while teammates with Rebic beating Bayern in Pokal Final to win a trophy there) and had success at West Ham too.

Not to mention he became the first person EVER to score in first 7 champions league matches. And only 2nd person (besides Cristiano Ronaldo) to score in all 6 group stage matches of CL.

I don’t doubt Nunez’s potential either… not commenting on him — just the fact that you and others (I think incorrectly) don’t give Haller enough credit.

  2. Marko Arnautovic is a wild man. Arnautovic, Rebic and Ibrahimovic in the same locker room will be fun.
All 3 of them are crazy.
But I doubt he comes in. He isn’t someone that will wanna sit on the bench and be a 3rd string striker

  3. Arnautovic can play on the right as well, so Origi would play the number 9. They can both play in the same team. OK, as a short term deal, 2 years max, but only if they have a younger replacement already in mind

    1. Arnautovic can never play on the right. He barely runs during games. He is a pure n9 at this point of his career.
