AC Milan are not willing to pay a fee for Olivier Giroud and could therefore turn to alternative targets, according to a report.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport points out (via MilanLive), Chelsea have promised to let Giroud go in case of offers from outside England, but Milan however are not willing to spend money to sign him. It will therefore be up to Giroud’s entourage and perhaps the player himself to negotiate with Chelsea to allow him to leave for free.
The relations between Milan and Chelsea are really good but the English side are very rarely willing to give discounts. Maldini and Massara want a new striker but Giroud is certainly not the only profile that they are looking at.
For example, the report mentions that there could also be the possibility that Edin Dzeko will leave Roma in the window and he could be an option. Andrea Belotti could leave Torino for €20-25m, while Arkadiusz Milik could come back to Italy and a fee of €12m should be enough.
