AC Milan came away with all three points from their clash against Frosinone at San Siro last night. A breath of fresh air for everyone, as a report puts it, including Stefano Pioli who has come under scrutiny lately.

As stated in today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), it was a night with quite a few positives for Milan. Pioli and his men responded to the injury crisis with an unspectacular but substantial performance, fueled by the San Siro crowd.
Frosinone was perhaps the best opponent for Milan last night, having played well at the start of this season but suffering from a lack of experience. The Rossoneri’s win couldn’t be taken for granted before the game, in other words, and claiming it was a necessary step forward.
Luka Jovic got off the mark with his first goal for the club, also assisting Fikayo Tomori for his tap-in, and Ismael Bennacer got to make his long-awaited return. Furthermore, no injuries were added to the list and thus it was a positive evening for Milan.
Milan cemented themselves in third place and also put some pressure on Inter ahead of tonight’s clash. The win against Frosinone – the second consecutive success in the league – was certainly more convincing than the one against Fiorentina.
