AC Milan’s collective effort in last night’s 0-0 draw with Spurs has drawn praise from the media as they did exactly what was needed to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.
Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below) has their player ratings from the game, starting with the team’s overall performance which earned a 7.5 out of 10 and Stefano Pioli’s management of the game which got an 8.

Mike Maignan was named man of the match and he too got an 8, while Rade Krunic was named the ‘flop’ and scored a 6. The defence in front of Maignan was praised, with Pierre Kalulu, Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori all getting a 7.5.
Junior Messias received a 6.5 while Sandro Tonali got a 7, and Theo Hernandez was awarded a 7.5. Brahim Diaz and Rafael Leao both scored a 7, with Olivier Giroud getting a 6.
In terms of the substitutes, Alexis Saelemaekers (6), Ismael Bennacer (6.5) and Divock Origi (6) did well when coming on to close out the game.
This is just disrespectful to Krunic.
The whole team played well last night, no reason we have to include a flop, that’s just reaching at this point. The fact that Krunic actually scored a passing grade says it all.

Strange ratings. krunic worked hard and did his job, unlike Leao.
Krunic was absolutely terrible in the first half, easily giving away possession in the Milan half multiple times. A 6 is fair if not slightly generous.
