The Ivorian midfielder has been an important player for Milan over the last few years, warranting a pay rise from the current salary he has. However, the parties have been unable to reach an agreement due to the excessive demands of the player.

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are already prepared for Kessie’s exit. The likes of Yacine Adli and Tommaso Pobega will return from their respective loan spell this summer and a signing is also expected.

Renato Sanches is at the top of the Rossoneri’s wish list, per the newspaper, and he wants to leave Lille ahead of next season. It remains to be seen what the outcome of the situation will be but it’s clear that Milan won’t be caught off guard if Kessie leaves on a free transfer.
