GdS: Milan ready to discuss signing of full-back but Man Utd demand over €20m – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan plan to sit down with Manchester United and discuss the future of Diogo Dalot in the hopes of keeping him permanently, a report claims.

The Portuguese full-back put in a good performance yesterday at left-back, scoring his second goal for the club in a 2-0 win over Hellas Verona. He was impressive both in the defensive phase and in the attacking phase, with a goal being the least he deserved after an excellent shimmy and shot.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via stopandgoal), Dalot has fully entered Stefano Pioli’s mechanisms and has often adapted to roles that are not exactly suited to his qualities. Paolo Maldini is at work to keep him and while the former Porto man’s future is still uncertain, the clubs could talk to each other soon and decide his future.

The excellent performances of Wan-Bissaka at United in recent weeks could give the green light for Dalot to remain in Serie A, but United could ask for a fairly high sum of over €20million to sell to Milan outright. If Milan should secure qualification for the Champions League though, they may pay it.
