GdS: Milan aim to renew young defender as European clubs begin to circle

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking to extend the contracts of players they consider a key part of the future and that also applies to Jan-Carlo Simic, a report claims.

This morning’s La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below) dedicated a section to Davide Calabria’s future, confirming that the management have held talks with his agents over the possibility of extending his deal beyond the current 2025 deadline.

At the bottom of that article there is a segment regarding Simic, who is another player with a deal that expires at the end of the 2024-25 campaign. The defender arrived at Milan in 2022 from Stuttgart and signed a three-year deal, which the club are looking to extend.

The dialogue with him and his entourage has not yet reached an advanced stage though and some European teams have shown interest in the last few weeks. Logically, his debut in Serie A with a goal against Monza (at 18 years of age) did not go unnoticed.

At the moment, there are no obvious problems on the horizon – Milan have the will not to lose him – but it is likely that, to keep the situation under control, there will be a change of gear in the first part of 2024.

    1. Who said that? They have to renew him asap and sell kjaer after the contract for Simic .
But yh as long as we have Pioli, simic would want to leave because if he renew pioli will say to him to go on loan and thats 100% true
