GdS: Milan scouting Vitoria Guimaraes starlet who continues to rise through the ranks

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have got a keen eye on young midfielder Tomas Handel as a potential fit for the club’s project and squad, a report claims.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), chief scout Geoffrey Moncada is following some Primeira Liga players with interest, possibly with an eye to finding Franck Kessie’s replacement in the event he leaves on a free transfer.

The paper mentions that the Rossoneri scouting leader has 20-year-old Tomas Handel in his sights. The defensive midfielder is currently owned by Vitoria Guimaraes and is a protagonist with the Portuguese U21 team but he also has an Austrian passport.

Handel is on the sidelines due to a muscle injury at the moment, but Moncada has noticed that he has climbed many positions in the hierarchies in recent months and looks like a very exciting player for the future and one perfectly in line with Milan’s youth policy.
