GdS: Milan set budget to fix key area of squad in January window and identify two top targets

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are determined to finally sign a central defender during the January transfer window and have two targets in mind, a report claims.

The Rossoneri tried hard to sign a centre-back during the summer mercato but after pursuing multiple different targets they came up empty handed, though it is expected that the management will try and address that in the winter.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday (via MilanNews), Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara know that they have a €15million budget to work with when the market reopens to reinforce the defence.

The first name on the list is that of Ozan Kabak of Schalke 04, a player who Milan have followed for a long time and tried to land in September. The paper claims that the Rossoneri will make a new attempt during the winter transfer market.

However, the Turkey international is not the only defender in the club’s sights as Matteo Lovato of Hellas Verona is also a target. He is the same age as Kabak (20), and has a valuation of €20m.
