GdS: Milan squad to head for the desert as part of team building exercise

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan squad will go on a trip to the desert today as part of their Dubai training retreat, according to a report.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the team will leave for an excursion among the sand dunes today but only after some work in the swimming pool, at the gym and the beach of the hotel following the friendly against Liverpool yesterday.

It will be a team building exercise away from prying eyes, not that Milan need to work on the spirit of their group however. Instead it will be used as a way to bond even more in a new environment.

There have been other examples of the closeness of the group while in the UAE. Ibrahimovic could have stayed in the luxury of the team hotel for the games but preferred to get lost in the traffic of the city to get to the Al Maktoum Stadium and support the team. The squad have also watched World Cup games together and also have done video analysis sessions.

Before the desert trip, the team will meet for a light workout in the hotel which will help to assess the condition of Divock Origi who missed yesterday’s friendly. He, Brahim Diaz and Saelemaekers will then be the protagonist of a commercial event with PUMA.

Simon Kjaer and Charles De Ketelaere have recently rejoined the squad, Brahim Diaz and Junior Messias are having their workload managed and the same can be said for Fikayo Tomori, while Davide Calabria and Mike Maignan continue pushing towards a full recovery.
