GdS: Milan standing firm after latest contract offer to Kessie – the player must concede

Despite an excellent start to the season in the league, Franck Kessie’s renewal continues to dominate the headlines surrounding AC Milan.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via NotizieMilan), there has not been much progress made recently over a contract extension and discussions between the club and the player seem to have stopped.

The club have put forward an offer worth €6.5m net per season and the player’s demand is €8m, meaning at this point it is difficult to predict how things can evolve. Milan no longer intend to press the player, who will have to come forward first to accept or refuse the contract offered to him by Maldini and Massara, as per the paper.

It is a negotiation that is becoming exhausting for the club’s management and the fans, who are increasingly disappointed by the behaviour of the Ivorian after his public declarations that he wants to stay.
