GdS: Milan standing firm after latest contract offer to Kessie – the player must concede

By Oliver Fisher -

Despite an excellent start to the season in the league, Franck Kessie’s renewal continues to dominate the headlines surrounding AC Milan.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via NotizieMilan), there has not been much progress made recently over a contract extension and discussions between the club and the player seem to have stopped.

The club have put forward an offer worth €6.5m net per season and the player’s demand is €8m, meaning at this point it is difficult to predict how things can evolve. Milan no longer intend to press the player, who will have to come forward first to accept or refuse the contract offered to him by Maldini and Massara, as per the paper.

It is a negotiation that is becoming exhausting for the club’s management and the fans, who are increasingly disappointed by the behaviour of the Ivorian after his public declarations that he wants to stay.

  1. Yeah, just offer him a relatable one for the contract..
Then let him decide to take or leave it,,
So we can focus on continue with/without him..

  2. Give him the 8 mil and sell his ass in the summer. They will make it up with a transfer fee. My bet is he won’t take it and that will show he had no intention of continuing with Milan.

    1. There’s a risk that no one would buy a player with such a high salary after he shat his pants against Liverpool. Especially if he doesn’t put himself together on CL games. Even PSG. Parisians want a player for their UCL dream and would never sign another local star to go for it.

  3. Im tired of Reading about Kessies Extension. Its quite Disappointing that he is refusing the money. But it would be also a big lose for us to loose Kessie for Free or a small amount.

  4. Just sell the #betrayer!
He’s got no honor, no RespAct and he’s got no balls. He’s a fake man of empty words…
Please, don’t give him our shirt to wear again.

    Sell the #traitor now!

  5. The reasonable move would be to tell Pioli to move him to primavera and not play him anymore until he signs. If he won’t sign put him up for sale for 15-20M in January. One of the clubs will take him for that amount as there is so many clubs waiting in line.

  6. Lautaro is accepting 4.4 mill salary from Inter. Belotti talking a renewal with Torino for 3.5 mill salary.
Immobile’s salary is less than 3mill.
    Insigne — 3.5 mill.
They all proved their class working hard for almost decade for their clubs. And now Kessie who was literally a nobody just two seasons ago is acting like he has a bookshelf full of trophies and 200 mill subscribers on Instagram.
Yeah, personality matters. Let him go. Keeping Kessie now will be a huge disrespect to Tonali who is making the same job but for 6x less money.
Especially if the boy keeps growing just like he started the season.
And what about Kjaer? Even he is old er w ould it be fair to him? We should also think about atmosphere within the team.
