GdS: Milan’s probable XIs for Fiorentina and Dortmund – three differences

AC Milan will take on Fiorentina and Borussia Dortmund after the international break. Two crucial games for the Rossoneri, and Stefano Pioli already has two different starting XIs in mind.

Milan have collected just two points from their last four league games and will have to bounce back against Fiorentina next Saturday. Due to the injury of Rafael Leao and the suspension of Olivier Giroud, some changes are expected to the XI.

As reported by today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Pioli already has two starting XIs in mind. He plans to field different ones in these two games, in other words, relying more on experience against Dortmund.

Probable Milan XI vs. Fiorentina (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Florenzi, Thiaw, Tomori, Hernandez; Musah, Reijnders; Chukwueze, Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic; Okafor.

Probable Milan XI vs. Dortmund (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Hernandez; Krunic, Reijnders; Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Okafor (Leao); Giroud.

Against La Viola, the manager wants to surprise the opponents with speed and creativity, fielding Nooh Okafor as the striker. The Swiss international will be supported by Samuel Chukwueze and Christian Pulisic on the flanks.

In the Champions League encounter, however, Giroud will be available and this means Okafor should start on the left. Christian Pulisic will be on the right flank, while the likes of Davide Calabria and Rade Krunic will get their starting spots back.
