GdS: Milan’s 2021 nosedive allows Inter, Atalanta, Napoli and Juve to overtake – the numbers

The first half of the season saw AC Milan continue their excellent post-lockdown form, but 2021 has not been kind to them at all.

Of course when near perfection was achieved through 2020 from March onwards it was always going to be hard to continue such a pace, but the collapse that the Rossoneri have had is extreme to say the least.

As reported this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport, since the beginning of 2021 Pioli’s side have dropped a lot of points compared to the teams fighting for the top four places. Milan are 14 points worse off than Inter in 2021, 13 worse than Atalanta, 9 worse than Napoli and even 7 worse than Juventus.

It is clean that a change of course is required between now and the end of the season if the team are to wrestle back a top four spot, otherwise the great work up until December risks being undone entirely.
