GdS: Milan’s intentions regarding Romagnoli are clear but Raiola relations are a factor

By Oliver Fisher -

Despite the fact he seems to have lost his starting spot and his contractual situation, Milan reportedly want to continue with Alessio Romagnoli.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports that the captain’s contractual position will be discussed soon as Romagnoli is about to enter the final year of his deal and the club want to avoid another Donnarumma-esque saga. Milan intend to have three high-level central defenders ahead of their return to the Champions League and Romagnoli is part of the trio.

The problem, as mentioned, is the deadline, so the appointment to negotiate cannot be postponed too long. In the event of securing a renewal, Milan would achieve a double objective: to enter next season with a precious piece of the squad no longer in the balance and to reunite with the Champions League having a strong defensive department.

However, relations with agent Mino Raiola are anything put positive at the moment suggesting that it could be an uphill negotiation, but Milan nonetheless seem willing to try.
