GdS: Napoli to beat Milan and Liverpool to Ligue 1 sensation as part of €85m double raid

By Oliver Fisher -

Napoli have beaten the competition of AC Milan and Liverpool as they look set to complete the signing of Lille striker Victor Osimhen.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) claimed last week that the Nigeria international is indeed a target for the Rossoneri, who are looking to sign a striker or possibly too given the doubts over the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Nigeria international bagged 18 goals and six assists in 38 appearances across all competitions, with Liverpool also linked by multiple outlets including L’Equipe.

According to Thursday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Nigerian striker arrived in Naples on Tuesday to discuss personal terms but needed some convincing regarding the move.

However, he was ‘particularly impressed’ by what he saw and in the next few days Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will meet with his Lille counterpart Gerard Lopez.

It is believed that the Partenopei could offer a sum of €85million to sign both Osimhen and centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes, or €60m for the striker only.
