GdS: Nianzou on list of names monitored but Milan do not expect changes at centre-back

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have added Tanguy Nianzou to their list of defensive targets in view of the summer transfer window, according to a report.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report how Nianzou would cost around €10m given that he is not a starter at Sevilla, and despite his young age he already boasts 11 trophies, won with PSG, Bayern and his current club too.

However, Nianzou is being kept under observation in case of departure of a central defender. The Rossoneri currently have five centre-backs, which from oldest to youngest are Simon Kjaer, Matteo Gabbia, Fikayo Tomori, Pierre Kalulu and Malick Thiaw.

Kjaer is 34 years old, with a contract expiring in 2024. Event hough he only played nine minutes against in the last three games of the season, is seems unlikely that he will leave, while the same goes for Gabbia, who useful for the squad lists.

Thiaw was bought last summer and is one of the jewels in the squad so he will stay, while Tomori and Kalulu it will depend on the offers even if for Pioli they are both untouchable and their contracts expire in 2027.

Kalulu will be one of the protagonists at the Under 21 European Championship in Romania and Georgia. At the moment there are no signs he or the Englishman will leave, but the unpredictability of the market means nothing can be ruled out and a replacement is lined up.
