GdS: Pioli considers fielding Ibrahimovic, Rebic and Leao at the same time vs. Bologna

By Oliver Fisher -

Stefano Pioli is pondering the idea of fielding a front four against Bologna which features Rafael Leao as the playmaker, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) reports that today’s training session at Milanello will be decisive in determining whether Rebic will be able to play against Bologna at the Stadio Renato dall’Ara tomorrow night. Pioli is also studying possible solutions since Brahim Diaz will still be out due to Covid-19.

The Milan boss is thinking of moving Rafael Leao to the attacking midfielder role where he would function as a sort of second striker while the team are in possession. He would take the place of Rade Krunic and would play behind Ibrahimovic, with the inclusion of Rebic as a left winger.

Since Ibrahimovic rejoined Milan he has never been deployed from the first minute with both Leao and Rebic, only a few times during the game, but the experiment could be done.
