AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is ready to rotate the defensive department once against Hellas Verona today, according to a report.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports how – contrary to reports earlier in the week – Pioli will call upon Fikayo Tomori to start the game at the Bentegodi. He was left out in midweek against Udinese as Alessio Romagnoli came back in, with the captain having been dropped for last weekend’s win in Rome.
The paper writes how with Tomori, Romagnoli and Kjaer, the coach has at his disposal a ‘luxury trio’ from which he can play the best couple but also rotate. The point is to be able to find a balance, because a rotation that involves benching the captain is an affair to be treated delicately.
Tomori and Romagnoli will be entrusted with blocking Verona’s attacks and the 23-year-old from Chelsea has already shown himself to have adapted well, while Romagnoli has to get back on track after a rather difficult period.
