AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli heads into the new season with one doubt above all in his mind, and it concerns his choices in attack.
According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) – which takes a look at the main doubt for each team ahead of the opening round of Serie A fixtures – Pioli’s mind is preoccupied by the right wing.

At the moment, Christian Pulisic is the favourite to start on the right flank against Bologna over Samuel Chukwueze. The reason is simply because the USA international arrived some time before the Nigerian and thus has had more time to get in shape and adapt.
The former Villarreal player isn’t yet in top condition as per the newspaper, but that doesn’t mean that he will not be used next Monday at the Stadio Renato dall’Ara.
Instead, it is possible and in fact likely that Pioli will turn to him off the bench to be the potential ‘gamebreaker’.
For me this question is obvious: Chuku should play. Although he might be lacking somewhat in physical condition. But when he is, he should play.
Chuk will naturally become the starter along the season.
Imagine player like Pulisic and Okafor on the bench.

Shows how good the transfer window for us. We have depth with quality players.
To get the full value out of Pulisic it is important to build his confidence, so beginning the season with a run of starts is vital to that project. Chuk is coming off a strong season and will be fine coming off the bench for a while as he integrates. Hopefully Pioli has plainly talked with them (and Leao) about how he plans to rotate them to prevent injury and keep them sharp. Milan will play a LOT of games this year so there will be plenty of minutes for everyone.

As much as I hope you’re right, Pioli pick a select few and relies on them heavily.
“Adaptation” is Pioli’s key word for I’m not playing him. It took Tonali, Thiaw, Leao a year to “adapt”. He barely gave CDK full starts (i know he gave him sub minutes) because he was “adapting”. Adil is another good example.
Long story short, Pioli has his guys and everyone else is “adapting” .. meaning wont play

Not that many Pioli guys left to play after so many departures and additions. Starting line will probably be Giroud, Leao, Pulisic, Krunic, RLC, Reijnders, Theo, Tomori, Thiaw, Kalulu, Mike.
This is is not the Coach that can do the work we acmilan real un changed funs and the new Management need to achieve.
So before he put us at the back or keep us at back of ac goals he is to be fired right now.

Pioli seems to be under a lot of pressure to start this season, which isn’t a bad thing. But the negativity from some of the fan base is counterproductive in the long term. With the summer acquisitions this team is very talented but quite young, which means we’ll see the best out of them in 2-3 years if we can keep the group together. The team needs stability to develop this group. Hopefully Pioli is the guy to do it. Let’s hope he’s given time to make it work.
We have seen Chelsea adding best players in the leagues will result only to fight for being top10.
But Pioli is à Coach who is on current position for more than 3years and more than half of team is from last seasons.
We cannot say give more time, every 3years we will have changes and Pioli has to show results not excuses this season
what makes you say that. I would assume there is very little pressure from management given the turnover in players? They signed young players for the reason you said…nothing I’ve heard from management has implied he needs immediate performances.
If Pioli needs a game-breaker against Bologna, he’s ****ed up.
