GdS: Potentially unbridgeable gap remains between Milan and Kessie over renewal

Franck Kessie is heading for the exit door as things stand because a renewal with AC Milan is not imminent, rather reportedly far from it.

Kessie’s contract expires at the end of the season and as the weeks pass by the threat of losing him on a free transfer – as happened with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu – becomes increasingly more realistic.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) takes stock of the negotiations for the renewal of Franck Kessie. At the moment there are no developments as each party remains in their respective positions, which means a standstill of sorts has been reached.

Milan have offered an extension until 2026, with an annual salary of €6.5m net per season, while the Ivorian and his agent want €8m. It is a distance that today seems unbridgeable, but the case is not quite closed yet and there could be further meetings to try and find a meeting point.
