GdS: Probable Milan XI to face Roma – Leao, Calabria and Bennacer to come back in

By Oliver Fisher -

Head coach Stefano Pioli seems set to resort back to the players he knows best for Monday’s home game against Roma.

The Rossoneri will be looking to make it five wins from five to begin their Serie A campaign when they welcome the Giallorossi and nine from nine across all competitions, but they will have to do so without the injured duo of Ante Rebic and Hakan Calhanoglu.

Matteo Gabbia is still COVID-positive while Mateo Musacchio and Leo Duarte are also expected to miss out as they continue their recovery, although the latter should be named in the squad.

According to Friday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pioli will pick the expected back four of Calabria, Kjaer, Romagnoli and Theo Hernandez in front of Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie will be ahead of them with Saelemaekers on the right wing and Rafael Leao on the left either side of the playmaker Brahim Diaz and centre-forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
