GdS: Probable XIs for Genoa vs. Milan – a first start for Jovic

Serbian forward Luka Jovic is set to receive his first start for AC Milan against Genoa with Stefano Pioli putting his faith in the new striker.

According to what is being reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), head coach Stefano Pioli is going to rest Olivier Giroud and allow Jovic to start for the first time, after a run of substitute appearances.

Many thought that Noah Okafor would start as the striker, but it seems that Rafael Leao will also be dropping to the bench and Okafor will get to play on the left wing. The pair will be joined by Samuel Chukwueze who gets the nod over Christian Pulisic on the right wing.

Yacine Adli is set to hold his place in the midfield from the last Serie A game, with Yunus Musah and Tijjani Reijnders on either side of him.

Davide Calabria is expected to be dropped to the bench for Alessandro Florenzi, whilst Mike Maignan will make his return in goal in place of Marco Sportiello.

Probable Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Florenzi, Thiaw, Tomori, Hernandez; Musah, Adli, Reijnders; Chukwueze, Jovic, Okafor.

Probable Genoa XI (3-5-2): Martinez; Dragusin, Bani, Vasquez; De Winter, Thorsby, Frendrup, Malinovskyi, Matturro; Messias, Gudmundsson.
