GdS: Probable XIs for Spezia vs. Milan – three changes as familiar double pivot returns

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli seems to have his starting line-up pretty much set for tomorrow’s game against Spezia, a report claims.

Milan are still battling an injury crisis as Simon Kjaer and Davide Calabria are missing from the defence, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Rade Krunic are unavailable for the midfield and Junior Messias, Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are all expected to be out too.

As per this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mike Maignan will be in goal against Thiago Motta’s Spezia with a back four of Davide Calabria, Fikayo Tomori, Alessio Romagnoli and Theo Hernandez. Franck Kessie is expected to come back in to partner Ismael Bennacer in the midfield.

In attack no changes are anticipated with Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz and Rafael Leao behind Ante Rebic, who will fill in as a striker again.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Kalulu, Tomori, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Kessie, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Diaz, Leao; Rebic.

Probable Spezia XI (4-2-3-1): Zoet; Amian, Hristov, Nikolaou, Bastoni; Ferrer, Sala; Salcedo, Maggiore, Gyasi; Antiste.

    1. Rebic’ has proven his best position is clearly Forward, so I don’t really see the issue here, I’ve never liked Rebic on the LW

Leao and Diaz should get some rest imo, we have no real substitutes for them
