GdS: Probable XIs for Torino vs. Milan – same defence and midfield but forced changes in attack

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have had little time to enjoy their 3-0 victory over Juventus as they are back in Turin to face Torino tonight.

Pioli will be without striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic – who is expected to be out for the season with a knee injury – and winger Alexis Saelemaekers, who picked up a suspension in the game against Juve due to the accumulation of too many yellow cards.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Gianluigi Donnarumma will be in goal protected by a back four of Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez from right to left. Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer will be the double pivot in front of them.

Samu Castillejo will take Saelemaekers’ place on the right wing with Brahim Diaz and Hakan Calhanoglu keeping their spots at No.10 and on the left wing respectively, and Ante Rebic the centre-forward.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Hernandez; Bennacer, Kessie; Castillejo, Diaz, Calhanoglu; Rebic.

Probable Torino XI (3-5-2): Sirigu; Bremer, Lyanco, Buongiorno; Singo, Baselli, Mandragora, Linetty, Rodriguez; Zaza, Belotti.

    Ibra with Stagione Finita?!
thought he was out only for 2 matches

  2. Cesar says:

Thanks to the weak form of Juventus AC.Milan reached three points with ease. In some other situation it would be impossible but it doesn’t matter. It is important that Pioli is not responsible for Milan’s victory, but the great luck of the players who shot from a difficult position and scored incredible goals, if Rebic and Diaz would shoot another 100 outs from the same situation, they would not score. Pioli is not a caliber for the Champions League and Milan needs a new expert in order for the team to work even better and be better motivated for the new season.

  3. Cesar says:

Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma;Calabria,Kjaer,Tomori,Hernandez;Bennacer,Kessi;Diaz,Calhanoglu, Rebic; Leao.

Castillejo is very slow and inefficient, his ideas are transparent and every defensive player reads his idea, so I think Diaz should play in that position, Calhanoglu in his standard position, left Rebic, and in attack of course Leao this guy needs games and chances that Pioli doesn’t see, I think this is the right match for Leao to show his skills. What Pioli hasn’t seen yet is that he has another great young player he doesn’t use and that is Hauge and these are just parts of Pioli’s mistakes and that’s why I think he should leave Milan
