We are now just two days away from the new Serie A season kicking off, and some updates have arrived on Christian Pulisic, Luka Jovic and Alexis Saelemaekers in view of AC Milan’s game against Torino.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) start by reporting that Pulisic is making progress and – although yesterday he still worked separately after the blow to his ankle which prevented him from playing in the Silvio Berlusconi Trophy – he will be there on Saturday.
The American wants to convince Paulo Fonseca to give him a starting shirt because he wants to start the season as a protagonist after a Copa America campaign with little satisfaction. The signs from preseason were good, especially in the playmaker role.
Jovic and Saelemaekers showed what they can do in the win over Monza. The Serbian – who had also scored against Barcelona – confirmed his eye for goal and baptised the new No.9 shirt he is wearing with an instinctive finish to make it 2-1.
The words of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Fonseca have postponed his farewell and, even if the market is unpredictable, Jovic wants to make it clear that he can be Alvaro Morata’s deputy, just as he was Olivier Giroud’s last season.
Saelemaekers is also pushing to stay, having enchanted San Siro on Tuesday with a rabona goal and pushing the Portuguese coach to declare – for the second time this summer – that he doesn’t want to sell him.
When Pulisic plays attacking midfielder, Samuel Chukwueze has an alternative on the right with the Belgian in the squad. Emerson Royal will not be available due to bureaucratic issues, La Gazzetta state.
While Mattia Liberali has shown that he should be considered for the first team, on Saturday Milan Futuro will play the second round of the cup against Novara. It remains to be seen whether he will play for Daniele Bonera’s side or be Pulisic’s back-up on Saturday.
