One of the strongest areas of the pitch for AC Milan so far this season has been the right of midfield, and it is no coincidence given Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s friendship off of the pitch.
As has been highlighted by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the two former Chelsea players have been linking up superbly in pre-season and in the first three games of the season.
Loftus-Cheek has been playing on the right side of the midfield three, whilst Pulisic has made the right wing his own. They have been finding each other with ease.
It was shown best with the opening goal against Torino where Pulisic started the move, played it to Loftus-Cheek who got into the box to pull the ball back across the danger area where the American was waiting to score.
The pair stayed in the same hotel when they first moved to Italy and would drive each other to Milanello. It is a relationship that benefits Milan on and off of the pitch.
