GdS: Reconstruction of events provided as Milan winger Castillejo is robbed at gunpoint

By Oliver Fisher -

A reconstruction has been provided of the incident which saw AC Milan winger Samu Castillejo robbed at gunpoint on Tuesday.

The Spaniard took to Instagram yesterday to tell his followers that he had been robbed, posting the story: “Is everything fine in Milano? Two guys robbed me while pointing a gun at my face.”

Wednesday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) reconstructs those moments. It lasted a few seconds, when two motorcyclists approached him while he was in the car and forced him to stop.

They did not ask for money or wallets, they simply took the Rolex that the player showed on his wrist and darted away. Fortunately there was no physical contact or further intimidation.

It happened in the late afternoon in an area close to Piazza Gae Aulenti, where the former Villarreal winger resides. The player had just gone out to do some shopping when the vehicle was stopped. The two robbers knocked on the window directly with the gun.

Milan tried to comfort him in every way: managers, team-mates and Stefano Pioli himself called to reassure him. The Spaniard today will formally file a complaint at the police station and will try to be as detailed as possible. He didn’t do it yesterday since he was still too shaken, the paper concludes.
