Referee Antonio Rapuano has been criticised for his handling of the game between AC Milan and Lazio yesterday at San Siro.
This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) analyses the performances that the referee Rapuano had and they gave him a rating of 5.5 out of 10 for his handling of the game, with the main criticism being how many cautions he gave out.

They describe it as a game with some flaws, especially when it came to yellow cards. In particular towards the end of the game, when he warned Luca Pellegrini for an intervention on Rebic.
Then, a yellow card was given to Malick Thiaw whcih was an exaggerated one for a foul on Basic one minute from the 90th.
In the first half, Romagnoli’s booking was also excessive. In the 84th minute, Rebic’s goal was dissalowed correctly, as he startedd in an offside position before beating Provedel.

Thiaw’s yellow was correct.
It was stupid challenge from Malick as the forward was with his back to the goal. Now he’s got unnecessary suspension.
True. It was rather soft IMO, but still enough for the ref to justify a yellow.
PLEASE LET MIKE MAIGNAN STOP WEARING ORANGE JERSEY WHENEVER HE’S IN GOAL FOR AC MILAN… PLEASE BOARD, address this. It’s very important.
And why? Cuz it’s only important for you? Hahaha
What’s wrong with orange? Did the color killed your dog or something? 🤣
Gazetta need to grow up from their ancient football mentality.
I’d rather the ref gives few soft yellows then let the game turn into a rugby match, like the games vs Roma, which leads to games having like 50 minutes of effective play. The outcome is boring, truncated, unwatchable football. Playing into the harmful stereotype of unatractive, cynical Calcio.
I see Milan winning the league next season 🎉,
Without CL next season, winning the league should be the only objective.
I don not see Milan winning it if they continue like this
