AC Milan boss Marco Giampaolo sent a strong message to his players during Friday’s training session, a report claims.
The Rossoneri begin their 2019-20 campaign on Sunday against Udinese at the Stadio Friuli, and Giampaolo’s squad are undergoing their final preparations before departing.
Clib president Paolo Scaroni, CEO Ivan Gazidis, sporting director Frederic Massara and technical director Paolo Maldini were all present at Milanello on Friday to watch the training session.
As per MilanNews.it, Giampaolo carried out an intense technical-tactical training session in which he paid close attention to possession football.
As can be seen from the video on social media, he barked a specific instruction at his players: “Keep ownership of the ball and don’t give it to them”.
Perhaps a simple command on the face of things but it is one very indicative of the way the former Sampdoria boss wants to play.
Glimpses were seen in preseason of how this Milan team can keep possession well and break through the lines, both with speed and when being more patient, but Sunday provides a whole new environment to test that in.
