AC Milan have scored nine goals so far, and only in one of them has Santiago Gimenez been involved. It is an unfortunate reality.
There is a very inconvenient situation playing out at San Siro. Gimenez, the man whom Milan entrusted with their future, has not yet lived up to the expectations. Since switching from the Netherlands to Italy, he has done little.

In fact, he scored six goals last season with two assists. So far this season, he has only one assist, in the Coppa Italia. Life in Italy is proving to be a lot more difficult than those who made the investment had hoped.
Gazzetta’s review
The hope remains, for all parties, that things can and will change. In fact, everyone is focusing on that fact and the situation, rather than an escape.
However, Gazzetta dello Sport states that ‘perseverance can be diabolical’. The Gimenez case is becoming serious, and as those around him flounder, he is left as the ‘only one who fails’. A harsh review, yes. However, it is difficult to fight the opposite.

In Udine, he made a ‘serious error’ in front of the goal, adding to the two against Bologna. Whilst he also faded in the attacking build-up. Then, there is the biggest issue: in all three goals, the Mexican was not involved.
Eight players were involved, yet the striker was never. As Gazzetta dello Sport leads to saying that, instead, he was a hindrance to play. With Christopher Nkunku and Rafael Leao getting up to match standard, his time is running out, quickly.

Maehle, Lucumi and Vlahovic for winter!
Can you please allow him to be? Leave him alone because your post is demoralizing and he doesn’t need that now. He’s playing a team game and every effort is positive and with him in the team Milan is winning
All he needs now is support and encouragement which I believe every Milan fan and the management are giving him. As for me am behind him and he will be back with bang just let him be.
Why? A public figure whose salary is hugely based on entertainment value and not sport one only. No fans, no money. We need to sell him already now before he starts getting loaned out. It was terrible signing. Pretty much no one takes squad players from the Dutch league as that league has no defence.
Yes we cannot expect world class striker much with given low fee and low wage ceiling. We can’t expect to win UCL or UEFA Europa Cup. Only scudetto and coppa are in our radar, so yall can relax, sit, grab you soft porridge meal and watch the show.
I believe in him. I believe he will start scoring soon. He was working hard regardless. Yes he needs to start finishing chances, but he is putting in the work. Allegri believes in him and so do his teammates.
Fire Furlani for this panic January buy that did nothing to prevent us from finish 8th last season, and is doing nothing for our efforts to finish top 4 this season. Colossal waste of money for a club like Milan. Why did Maldini get punished for his vision while this a**hole can continue to make signings like Royal and Gimenez? Travesty.
If we didn’t get to war with Origi, he would score more than this guy by now. Also, Maldini was supposed to replaced by AI type software. I think our software has a virus.
He’ll be fine off the bench in the near future. He’s at a reset moment in his career, and needs to get through it. Let the team be who they are. Consistency at a high level as a group is the most important thing. We have experienced players and coaches at the heart of it. They deserve the benefit of the doubt. A goal against Lecce in the Coppa, if Santi plays, could get him going.

at least…that’s one point of view.
He is no impact player. He has no speed or right foot. There is less defence in the Dutch league than in MLS. All what he does is getting the ball on his left foot while he is already in motion front to the goal. We have no use of him and he would not even be used Belgian or Austrian leagues where you actually defend. My only hope is that there still is someone in Saudi Arabia needing someone for a few month that would pay the same we paid. I actually don’t understand why Camarda left knowing how bad Gimenez is. He has been at Milan for nearly a year now and not everyone left with Fonseca or Sergio, so plenty of people see him in training,
Each one has to help the other. His time will come but the environment is perfect for someone who needs a goal to unlock themselves.
It’s really funny. For a signing I was vehemently against in the winter window, along with many others signings that window, i still hold out hope for the best in the player and want to see him succees. Really ironic as I don’t see the ones who were so “for” the signings even give a word of encouragement 🤷♂️
I am in that same boat, I didn’t want him but somehow the haters have polarized me into wanting him to succeed 🤣🤣🤣
I’m sure you’re both rooting for him because he is currently a Milan player, but deep down you know the truth, you were right all along
So he hasn’t scored in 4 games yet. It’s not like Leao didn’t have those “firing blanks” -streaks last season. Where was these articles back then? 🙂
