Giornale: Europa League progression would secure more reinforcements for Pioli and Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli will likely have to wait until the Europa League group stages are secured before receiving any more reinforcements.

Milan have already welcomed the signing of Sandro Tonali, Brahim Diaz and Ciprian Tatarusanu – as well as securing the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and a permanent deal for Ante Rebic – but it appears there are still some areas that need addressing.

According to Sunday’s edition of il Giornale (via MilanNews), Pioli is waiting to secure the Europa League group stages before receiving reinforcements.

If on Thursday against Rio Ave the Rossoneri were to qualify, then they would have new resources to invest immediately on the market. For now, the coach has to make do with what he has, especially in defence where only Kjaer and Gabbia are fit.

Should the need arise, defensive midfielder Franck Kessie is ready to adapt to become a centre-back, a position he did play when he was younger.
