Giornale: Milan to seal signing of €40m Man Utd linked midfielder ‘in the next few hours’

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are close to completing the signing of Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis on an 18-month loan with option to buy, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo recently reported that the Rossoneri are keen on bringing in the defensive midfielder, ready to present an offer.

However, as the report continues, the competition for the player is fierce. The likes of Man Utd and league rivals Roma are also keeping tabs on Florentino, who has a €120m release clause in his contract.

Despite this, our mercato expert Vito Angele has provided an update on Tuesday, stating that Milan are expecting a response from Benfica regarding Florentino in the next 48 hours, having made an offer of an 18-month loan with option to buy at €40m.

According to il Giornale though – as cited by MilanNews.it – Milan are in fact closing in on reaching a total agreement with Benfica on the aforementioned basis of a loan until summer 2021 and an option to buy of €40m. They state that the deal should be concluded ‘in the next few hours’.
