CorSera: Giroud certain to stay at Milan in 2022-23 but doubts arise over Ibrahimovic

AC Milan’s centre-forward department may undergo some changes this summer, with doubts about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future.

Today’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) reports this morning that Olivier Giroud will have a guaranteed place in the Milan attack next season, given that he signed a two-year deal when he joined from Chelsea and he has made a good impact.

However, there are still doubts about what the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be, whose contract will expire on June 30th. It cannot be excluded that the Swede will decide to retire from football at the end of the current season.

The 40-year-old’s aim was to help Sweden qualify for the World Cup in Qatar but they lost their play-off final against Poland meaning he will remain at home later this year. A potential trophy (or two) with Milan might be enough for him to think he has signed off on a high.
