CorSera: Giroud certain to stay at Milan in 2022-23 but doubts arise over Ibrahimovic

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s centre-forward department may undergo some changes this summer, with doubts about Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future.

Today’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) reports this morning that Olivier Giroud will have a guaranteed place in the Milan attack next season, given that he signed a two-year deal when he joined from Chelsea and he has made a good impact.

However, there are still doubts about what the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be, whose contract will expire on June 30th. It cannot be excluded that the Swede will decide to retire from football at the end of the current season.

The 40-year-old’s aim was to help Sweden qualify for the World Cup in Qatar but they lost their play-off final against Poland meaning he will remain at home later this year. A potential trophy (or two) with Milan might be enough for him to think he has signed off on a high.

  1. It would be a smart choice to retire if he wins the scudetto. Sign off on a high, and stay in the coaching staff to gain the experience necessary to soon enough coach himself.

    1. He wont retire.. he is still pretty good so.. he will play until someone is better and he not good i hope stays more with milan!! And try win UCL one last time!!

  2. experience often matters as well as youth .
GIROUD IS MAGNIFICENT and will play for a few years yet ..I have always rated this player ,and he will score goals …IBRAMAVIC is still a important player ,and again he will still score goals ..
