Photos: How AC Milan’s 125th anniversary shirt should look – return to old crest

By Oliver Fisher -

Some images have emerged which claim to show how AC Milan’s 125th anniversary shirt will look, and it features a throwback to an old crest.

Milan will celebrate 125 years of history on December 16 this year, and the modern way dictates that a commemorative kit must be released. The club and PUMA gave fans the opportunity to help design the shirt, including the badge plus the thickness of the stripes.

Below, a leak shows that it is likely to have stripes that are of a normal width and the shirt in question has long sleeves rather than short. In addition, it will feature the old ‘Milan Foot Ball and Cricket Club’ crest as was used in the early years.

There is no PUMA branding visible on the outside, but the kit is produced by the German supplier. It is expected to be worn during the home game closest to the anniversary, as the one was for the 120th birthday.

  1. Even though im generally more in favor of the thicker stripes i actually likes the ones in the link. I also like that the stripes are covering fully on the front and back which they always should do in my view.
    Might get one.

  2. What I never like is when the kit displays white details on the collar and/or on the shirtsleeves, just like (unfortunately) next season’s kit, btw.

    1. Not really in my taste either but i also prefer the older ones when slim fit wasn’t a thing in football shirts. Like the ones from late 80ies and 90ies are my preferred shirts.

      1. I don’t care about fit either way, but I do like the stripes from those days. I also think they should go back to using the all black kit exclusively as the third kit. I’m tired of the yellows, greens and pinks.

        1. I’m absolutely with you and the stripes of those days is Milan for me and i do also agree on the third kits but I can also understand that from a point of reference both ethically and monetarily it makes sense to use the third kits to create some original shirts to both generate shirt sales and because if its always the same, less shirts will be sold and ts also a good marketing ploy.
Personally I’m pretty old school in the sense that AC Milan shirts should be more like the eras of shirts being red and black striped. A white’ish European shirt and preferably a very dark if not completely black 3rd shirt but even in the 90ies there was also gold shirts and a aqua marine shirts as well.
So it isnt as simple as just colors but those 3 I mentioned is my favourite ones nevertheless and that should be standards in my view.
