On the field, Milan are experiencing a difficult moment. Recent results have complicated the race for a place next season’s Champions League, with defeats against Sassuolo and Atalanta making victories against Genoa and Cagliari a must to guarantee qualification.
Away from the pitch, things are moving too. According to Sportitalia reporter Gianluigi Longari, a meeting took place in London between the club’s top management and Gerry Cardinale on Thursday.
The future of CEO Giorgio Furlani – highly contested by the fans – was also a topic of discussion. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Massimo Calvelli were spotted last night arriving back at Milan Linate airport, presumably having been in England.
Cardinale and the management met London to discuss a possible upheaval, something that the owner hinted at in an interview with Corriere della Sera published this morning. Calvelli was there as he is a member of the AC Milan board of directors.
