There is another midfielder currently at the tournament in the United States who could soon end up playing their football at San Siro in Modric. Luka and Milan have reached an agreement for next season, a one-year deal with an option for a second year, according to multiple reports.
In an interview with the newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sucic spoke about the possibility of playing a derby against his compatriot Modric. MilanPress relayed his response.
“He hasn’t signed yet. If he signed… it would be great. Playing a derby against Modric would be special. We only played together in the national team, for us Croatians he is simply the greatest ever, everyone wants to be like Luka,” he said.
“I can’t really imagine what it would be like to have him against me, but the Milan derby is unique, like San Siro itself… When I entered for the first time in an Inter-Fiorentina, I said ‘woah’. It’s not a stadium, it’s the home of football.”
