Intermediary confirms Newcastle star ‘would have liked’ Milan move and confirms talks

By Oliver Fisher -

An intermediary has confirmed that talks were held over the possibility of Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin joining AC Milan last month.

A number of reliable sources reported towards the end of the January window that Milan were in discussions over the possibility of signing the Frenchman from Newcastle as an alternative to Nicolo Zaniolo.

No deal ended up being agreed, and Calciomercato.com then stated that the Rossoneri were offered the chance to sign the French winger earlier in the January transfer window on loan but they declined as they wanted the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season, rather than just a dry loan.

Fabrizio Ferrari – a well-known agent and intermediary – spoke to DAZN and confirmed that there were indeed discussions about Saint-Maximin joining the Rossoneri in January.

“I admit that there was some talk between the parties, even if the real possibility of seeing Saint-Maximin at Milan never came. The reason? They had other priorities in January. But the boy would have liked it, how can you say no to a club like Milan?” he said (via MilanLive).

  1. Sell Leao, get this guy and Zaniolo with that money and let’s reset the team. All this uncertainty with Leao is just affecting the psychology and image of the team.

  2. Hmm… Other priorities young gk we have so no. Get some cheap Chilean winger who is not proven?
