CM: Milan and Inter want €60m striker but Dortmund, Newcastle and Arsenal lead charge

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have registered their interest in signing Jonathan David from Lille but they face multiple obstacles in their pursuit, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com claim that the Rossoneri are keen on signing David as their long-term striker for the future but they are joined by their rivals Inter, while both clubs are currently being held back by the €60m+ asking price that the Ligue 1 champions have set.

David has 16 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions for Lille this season while he also has 20 goals and 11 assists in 27 appearances for the Canadian national team showing that he is a striker who – at the age of just 22 – has international pedigree.

Canada are one step away from qualifying for the World Cup while Lille are happy because they know they have another jewel in their hands that they can sell for a great capital gain to the highest bidder.

At the moment the former Gent star is unlikely to play in Italy next season because Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal and Newcastle United are ahead in discussions with the French club.
