Journalist claims €30m Croatia international only wants Milan with talks to resume on Monday

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to resume talks over a deal for CSKA Moscow playmaker Nikola Vlasic, according to one journalist.

Milan are continuing their pursuit of a replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu, who decided not to renew and instead opted to join city rivals Inter on a free transfer. Vlasic is a name that continues to be linked by various sources, with the general consensus being that Milan have had a first offer rejected for the 23-year-old.

According to Danny Armstrong on Twitter, the Rossoneri are set to continue talks with CSKA over possible signing of Vlasic on Monday July 26. The club were originally set to take a two-week break from discussions given the difference in stances, but Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara appear determined.

He adds that despite a whisper from Spain that Monaco have made a €30m bid for Vlasic, not one other source confirms those reports of an offer from the Ligue 1 club, which is ‘seemingly a lazy link’ between Croatian manager Niko Kovač and a Croatian player. Vlašić has made it known to CSKA that he wants move to Milan, the journalist adds.
