Watch: Messias nets first Milan goal with header to win it late on against Atletico Madrid

By Oliver Fisher -

There was a memorable moment for Junior Messias tonight as he netted a late winner for AC Milan against Atletico Madrid to keep the team’s Champions League hopes alive.

With just over three minutes left on the clock, it was Milan who got the goal their pressure deserved. A counter-attack saw Theo feed a ball into Kessie who was playing as a makeshift attacking midfielder at this point, and he stood up an inch-perfect cross where Junior Messias was waiting to head in for his first ever goal for the club.

  1. I never would have believed it. I honestly thought this guy would be a flop.

But today, he was brave. From the moment he stepped on the field, he was pushing forward. He showed technique, desire, and will to give his 110%.

If he continues like this and stays healthy, we have a very solid player we can count on.

  2. Very intelligent player, He sets up the build-up and ran into the box to receive the ball . What a fantastic combination and sweet finish. Great first goal for Messias

  3. Romagnoli ain’t good in 1v1 situations. That rating should not be higher than that of Kjaer. Griezmann left him.for dead on the left flank as though he was a ghost. He performs better when double teaming a player.
Those who said we signed messi’s a** can eat their words now!!

  4. Messias had a great night. Great story.

But do not let stories be louder than performance. Do not let be another Serginho – scoring an important goal (Juve CL pen) and then just using up a space for younger player on a bench.

He was engaged in 5 actions, in three he could have done better – including a pass to Bakayoko when he could have chosen better. Bakayoko was running in with a defender on his back, and I think it was Bennacer who was completely unguarded and could have scored instead.
