MN: Juventus enquire about Saelemaekers – the response from Milan

Juventus are looking to strengthen in wide areas and they have asked AC Milan about Alexis Saelemaekers, a report claims.

According to MilanNews, Saelemaekers will start tomorrow against Cremonese but ‘is waiting to see’ if he’ll be a key player for Massimiliano Allegri’s side or if he risks being a potential alternative, which leads to a bit of uncertainty. Based on preseason, though, he is a crucial man.

A call from Juventus

There are no ongoing negotiations, but Juventus directors Comolli and Chiellini have been exploring an alternative to Nahuel Molina, who Atlético Madrid seem to be not allowing to leave at the moment.

Juventus are currently evaluating other names and Saelemaekers is among them, as someone who can play on the right side. It remains to be seen whether Juve will decide to make an official offer to Milan, but the asking price would be very high.

The directors would in fact ask for at least €25-28m in order to come to the negotiation table. However, with just nine days left before the transfer window closes, it may take a bid of an even higher amount.

The same can be said for Atalanta’s interest in Yunus Musah. For the former Valencia man, the terms are clear: either they reach €30m when adding the fixed part to easy bonuses, or they won’t even sit down at the table.

  1. Not for sale at the moment, why should we strengthen our direct rival, and Saele is growing, sell him only next season to PL for at least 50M

  2. The league seasons starts tomorrow and there is a week until the window closes. Selling Musah is already a risk, as we’ll be hard pressed to replace him, and if we now go an sell Saelemaekers it would be crazy. We’d have to sort a replacement and it would mean even more churn. Not to mention that Saele is made for the 3-5-2, I think he’ll have a good season. At this point we need to focus on finalizing whichever striker we’re going to bring in and getting a 5th CB, with the only outgoings being players that are definitely out of the project, like Adli and Bennacer.

    1. We are excess in midfield, we won’t need to replace Musah. We already have Adli and Benny extra. I think Allegri likes Musah only because he is versatile. Can be deployed in variety of positions. Midfield sides right back. Problem is he is a nit even a proper makeshift in any position….somewhat makeshift.

  3. Absolutely not. We need him for his versatility. If Juve wants him, 80-90 million. End of story. But even then I would say no as they are direct rivals and we don’t seem to be doing that this summer. They should have inquired much earlier.

  4. I’m glad we have a SD now that charges a premium for our talent. If we had Tare in sooner we would have gotten a lot more for Tiji. 200m from outgoing sales and on the verge of unloading a lot of deadwood. Very impressed so far.

    1. You said my mind. Tare has done incredibly in this first transfer window. I hope he is able to clear the mess in our previous mercato like Origi and co.

  5. If they can get 25 right away or close to 30 with bonuses, that would be an easy & profitable sell. He’s a RWB which was never really suitable for the team.
