Pierre Kalulu has claimed that he never feared the prospect of Juventus not buying him permanently, and thus returning to AC Milan.
After falling down the pecking order at Milan following his arrival from Lyon, the decision was made to allow Kalulu to join Juventus on a season-long loan deal that included an option to buy.

He impressed there under Thiago Motta, and despite the fact that he was sacked and Igor Tudor arrived to replace him, the triggering of that buy-out clause always seemed a mere formality.
Indeed, it was made official last week that Juve have chosen to make the Frenchman’s loan a permanent stay. It is believed that Milan will pocket around €14m plus €3m in bonuses from the sale, in addition to the €3m loan fee.
The defender speaks
Kalulu gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport from Juventus’ training camp in the United States for the Club World Cup. He was asked if he was worried that he might not end up a permanent Bianconeri player.
“Honestly, I was never afraid that Juventus would not buy me back. I always had faith in my work and I am happy that everything went well,” he said (via MilanPress).
“I was on loan, but in reality since last summer I have always felt part of the team and the Juve environment. My situation has changed on a contractual level, but the rest is the same.”
So 17m is ok for Kalulu but we’re haggling Napoli for 20mil plus? 🤦♂️🤦♂️
This Kalulu deal is one of the worst in a long time. Strengthen the rival for cheap. Now they’re in Europe and we’re not (and yes Kalulu played well to earn Juve points this season)..

Oh man it’s only football talk – there’s no need to get so heated about people’s different opinions – and this relentless “Gerryboys” narrative is exhausting at this point… A lot of you guys were banging on about how Reijnders is “average” for a whole season and are now saying saying Modric and Xhaka are two washed up old farts – who the fk cares we all get some right and some wrong let’s just all try and enjoy the game as fans of the same freaking club sheesh….

The Milan situation is very sad. This whole circus is the result of one man’s ego and the ripple effect of the foolish decision he made. Why is so difficult to rectify? Ego never lets you admit your error.
In silence, so much has been loudly uttered. Yet, people ignore the signs. When you bring people together, they form a chemistry both on and off the field. This is not to say people don’t move on from places of employment to others. What you always try to prevent is creating a bad feeling. Feelings of resentments.
Football is business and yes, who pays the bills deserves to make profit. However, why would you go out of your way to destroy a legacy? AC Milan is a legacy. The worst thing that happened to this club is Cardinale and RedBird.

Apparently, the self-proclaimed lion, who’s really nothing but Cardinale’s pet poodle — Ibra is in this for the money. If when Maldini was sacked, Ibra took the right stand to acknowledge the man who brought him back to Milan… But Ibra is a traitor and not a friend.
Is this the vision he has of Milan that is better than Maldini’s? Has he done a better job in whatever role he has taken up at Milan. Well, yes. He’s certainly knows how to play with Cardinale’s balls better than anyone.

To the Ibra point, I wonder if he realizes that Gerry and Co didn’t want him as it didn’t suit their model and it was Maldini who had to beg for Ibra to come to the club. Now Gerry is clearly using him as the symbol/vacuum that Maldini has left but as typical with Gerry he doesn’t realize those two are worlds apart esp to what it means to be a milanisti! I guess he also like big ego people around the club, they could do with some humility.
But Kalulu came for 500K or something like that. 17mil is a good return on him (while I think they could have sold him for more).
Musah was 20mil plus. Not sure why Furbag is risking blowing up this deal over bonuses.
Yes correct..the difference is that Kalulu came in as a 500k player and became a 30-40m player whereas Musah came as a 20m player and stagnated, possibly even regressed. His value is only holding because of age. But his skills/value havent improved since he’s been with us. Where there was optimism for growth when he left Valencia, it’s now turned into a risk for a buying club. That’s not factored in into numbers sometimes.

How do you sell a guy who can play across your backline to a direct rival only to go an buy Emerson Royale? You had Calabria, Kalulu and Saelemaekers available for the RB position. That trio won the scudetto, whether you like it or not. The money should have been spent elsewhere to strengthen the squad. But it becomes clear when you understand that the plan was to dismantle what Maldini built. Some idiotic mindset, when you should instead consolidate. That’s the problem with ego.
I was so displeased by the let go of Kalulu, as mentioned above could play RB and CB. Just to get Emerson Royal, facepalm!
Would have preferred to have kept Kalulu. The management know best…. Apparently……..🤔
If he was able to stay healthy it would be a different matter, he has missed more than 200 days due to injury over the past 2 seasons.
