GdS: Liquidity problem for Lazio could put Milan in driving seat to land Hellas Verona star

By Oliver Fisher -

The papers continue to be dominated by AC Milan’s search for a new defender and they reportedly face a battle with a Serie A rival for Nicolò Casale of Hellas Verona.

According to what is being reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), both Milan and Lazio have set their sights on the 23-year-old Casale, who has been impressive so far for Verona and subsequently has a valuation that is no less than €10m.

The paper explains that that the Biancoceleste have already begun discussions with Verona over a potential deal for Casale, but as a club they still have the problem of a negative liquidity index that prevents him from operating on the market for the moment.

Regarding the Rossoneri’s interest, Casale is one of the profiles followed by directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, who are still looking for a central defender after Simon Kjaer’s serious injury.
